Ukraine is a beautiful country located on the western border of Russia . Ukraine achieved statehood in 1991 following the collapse of the Soviet Union . Over the last decade, economic downfall has contributed to a rising number of orphans throughout the country. Children between 14 months and 16 years of age are available for adoption.

Parent Requirements
Married couples and single woman may adopt from Ukraine . Prospective adopting parents must be 18 years or older, and the difference between the age of the adopting parent and adopted child must be at least 15 years.

Travel
Ukraine is a beautiful country to visit. Parents have the option of making two short trips to the Ukraine or one long trip to complete their adoption.
