“Pure and lasting religion in the sight of God our Father
means that we must care for orphans and widows
in their troubles…” James 1:27
The winter of 2005-2006 had many record-breaking low temperatures throughout Eastern Europe. One of our parents that traveled to Russia for her adoption in Febuary said “the cold air was like razor blades hitting my skin”. That is why it is so important that the children wear heavy, warm coats. While traveling in Russia during May we were surprised to see many of the children still wearing their winter coats. Most coats were threadbare due to heavy use. Many of the coats had holes and most of them had broken zippers.
This winter Adoption Ark wants every child in Ivanovo wrapped in a nice, warm coat. We would like to “Warm their Heart” with the generosity of Americans donating nice, warm coats that will last throughout the winter. Preferably we would like to send new coats but used coats in good working condition will also be appreciated. This is a big undertaking! I encourage everyone to speak with adoption groups and churches in your area about donating coats.
Coats should be sizes infant – juniors for both boys and girls. Coats with attached hats are particularly needed. Please contact Kim at info@specialadoption.com or call (877) 213-1444 for shipping information.
