Due to poverty, neglect and abandonment, there are millions of orphaned children worldwide. Children born with special needs are at greater risk and face a even more desperate future than the general orphan population. Special needs children are housed together in the poorest orphanages and often overlooked for adoption. They will not get the medical care or special attention that their particular condition requires. Their fate is in the hands of people half way around the world.

Adoption Ark is a registered, nonprofit organization. The Special Needs Adoption Project, S.N.A.P., at Adoption Ark was developed to give special needs children living abroad the same opportunity to be adopted as other orphaned children.
